Academic Advisement

The department chair of the college assigns group of students to an adviser who is a faculty member of the college. The adviser guides the students in their course until they graduate. The adviser checks if pre-requisites are complied with and determine/recommends what subjects to take during pre-registration. The adviser meets the advisees as a group every semester and may report to him/her at a particular time the adviser and advisee are both available to discuss problems with him or studies and other concerns that affect him/her performance and life.

Guidance Services

The college coordinates very closely with the guidance counselor of the college. The Dean recommends to the guidance counselor students with poor academic performance, students who incurred a grade of AF due to excessive absences.

Job Placement

The Dean’s Office in cooperation with the Guidance Office provide venue for testing and interview for job hiring of graduating students. The Dean’s Office require graduating students to submit biodata and submit them to the companies through their representative who comes to the office looking for job applicants. The office submits list of graduates/referral and their contact numbers to companies who send invitation for hiring.

Laboratories

Engineering students are allowed to use laboratories of the college whenever the facilities are available to finish their projects and other course requirements requiring the use of lab and also to conduct research in their Senior Project provided its use is endorsed by the subject teacher and approved by the department chair or program director.

CISCO Laboratory (D413)

The CISCO laboratory is located at the Fourth Floor of Dolan Hall. It houses an array of the latest sets of networking equipment available in the field. At present, it accommodates 36 units of Pentium 4 computers capable of handling Online Curriculum & Evaluation demand, and networking simulation needs of its users. The laboratory serves as a niche for would-be network engineers, as it provides the hands-on laboratory experience with the same sets of equipment as those being used in the industry.

Just recently, there had been significant acquisitions geared towards improving this networking facility. The College of Engineering has just acquired additional 2811 series routers and Linksys WRT300N Wireless Routers to complement the existing 2500s and 2600s it already have. Furthermore, new CISCO Catalysts 2960 switches were also bought to augment the existing Catalysts 1900 series switches.

Ateneo de Naga University is the only university in Bicol with this type of high-end networking laboratory.

DRAWING LABORATORY (D411)

The Drawing laboratory is located at the fourth floor of Dolan Hall. It houses 30 computers used mainly in running the latest AUTOCAD2007 and AUTOCAD14 design applications. It is in here that engineering students learn their fundamentals in the field of engineering drawing to that of advance design processes employing the AUTOCAD systems.
