Mr. Kristian Cordero Bags 2008 NCCA Writers Prize for Poetry

Mr. Kristian S. Cordero, a faculty member of AdNU's Social Sciences Department, won the 2008 National Commission for Culture and the Arts ( NCCA ) Prize for Poetry for his project dubbed Segunda Mano.
Mr. Cordero will be given a grant of Php 250,000 to assist him in the completion of his writing project. This will be released to him in four (4) tranches. The first tranche of Php 50,000 was given to him during the Awarding Ceremony held last July 25, 2008 at the lobby of the NCCA Bldg. in Manila where he also received a trophy and a certificate.
Hailing from Iriga city, Mr. Cordeo has authored two (2) collections of poetry and has won several awards, including a Carlos Palanca Award for Short Story and the Madrigal - Gonzales Best First Book Award in 2006.
The NCCA Writers Prize is an annual award conceptualized by its former director and National Artist for Literature Virgilio Almario.
