AdNU-CLG starts PSEEAP workshops in Sorsogon City
The AdNU Center for Local Governance (CLG) was commissioned by The Asia Foundation (TAF) to implement the Public Service Excellence, Ethics and Accountability Program (PSEEAP) in Sorsogon City. The said program was made possible though the generous support of the British Embassy Strategic Programme Fund (SPF) under the Localizing Counter Corruption in Six Cities in Luzon and Visayas project implemented byTAF.
The first workshop conducted relative to the implementation of the said program was the Service Vision and Service Values (SV & SV) Workshop held last July 23-24, 2008 at the Sorsogon City Hall. This activity was intended for the participants coming from the following offices: City Mayor’s Office, City Administrator’s Office, City Treasurer’s Office, City Planning & Development Office, and the City Public Market Office. It aims to help these offices formulate their department’s service vision, service values and service strategies. The said offices are to be covered in the implementation of the said program which would require a reform process as identified by the City Government.
Ms. Benita Michele S. Ciudadano, CLG Staff, and Ms. Maria Cristina M. Delos Santos, Chair of the Department of Business Administration, College of Commerce served as trainers cum facilitators for the said workshop.
Prior to the conduct of the SV & SV Workshop, a briefing with City Pool of Trainers, conduct of the Pre-Implementation Survey and the presentation of the Survey Results were held last July 1; July 2-3; and July 22, respectively. These activities were facilitated by the CLG Director, Dr. Malu C. Barcillano with the assistance of Ms. Benita Michele S. Ciudadano, CLG Staff and Mr. Duke Thomas Dolorical, a former MPA student of the Graduate School.
The PSEEAP is an intervention that promotes transparency in service, strengthens accountability of local bureaucrats, and encourages customer-oriented culture in the delivery of basic services. The program implementation in the City of Sorsogon started last June 2008 and will end in April 2009 by the virtue of the Executive Order No. 018, Series of 2008 issued by Hon. Leovic Dioneda.
