USIC-GOVERNANCE CLUSTER
and CLG facilitate the BPPBW in SAGÑAY

The Ateneo de Naga University Social Involvement Council (USIC) – Governance Cluster and Center for Local Governance (CLG)  under the leadership of Dr. Malu C. Barcillano, facilitated the simultaneous Barangay Participatory Planning & Budgeting Workshops (BPPBW) in the five (5) pilot barangays in Sagñay, Camarines Sur last September 10-11, 2008.

The trainers-cum-facilitators for the five Barangays were the following:

  • Barangay Atulayan - Ramon Beleno III, Faculty member from the Department of Social Sciences and Pia Eirene B. Abengoza, Master in Public Administration (MPA) student of the Graduate School
  • Barangay Bongalon - Honesto N. Murillo, Jr. of the Center for Local Governance and  Emerlie Rayala of the Office of Gender and Development and a former MPA student
  • Barangay Mabca - Benita Michele S. Ciudadano of the Center for Local Governance and a former MPA student  
  • Barangay Nato - Leslie Escalada, Faculty member from the Department of Social Sciences and Celeste C. Dizon, MPA student of the Graduate School
  • Barangay Sto. Niño -  Armida L. Naz, former MPA student and Emmanuel P. Romero of the Office of the Personnel and a former MPA student

Two (2) Politcal Science students, namely, John Edward B. Alejo (2nd Year) and Japhet Paulo P. Quian (4th year) assisted and observed in Barangays Mabca and Nato, respectively.

The said undertakings were made possible through the efforts of the Local Government Unit of Sagñay represented by its Local Chief Executive, Hon. Roberto A. Briones withthe assistance of the Municipal Planning & Development Coordinator, Ms. Yolenia Cosa.

The participants formulated a concrete and detailed Barangay Development Plan for Year 2009.
