Students, faculty members, and administrators trekked to AdNU's Xavier Hall last October 6, 2008 to view a total of sixty one (61) entries in the 2008 Streaks of Light Photo Exhibit. This week-long activity was organized by the CC21 Basic Photography Students of the AdNU – Media Studies Department.

The Opening Ceremonies started with the Ribbon Cutting led by Dr. Digna Alba, Chair, Media Studies Department and Ms. Jeniffer Ruby Baylon, a Photography Instructor. This was followed by the Blessing of the Photographs by Rev. Fr. Cresentio Abinal, Parochial Vicar of St. Dominic of Guzman Parish in Gainza, Camarines Sur and the Opening Remarks by Fr. Danilo Isidro, S.J., himself an excellent photographer.

In the Closing and Awarding Ceremonies held last October 11,2008, Fr. Joel Tabora, University President gave a short message. In his speech, he revealed his own fondness for taking pictures to an awed audience.

There were twenty four (24) minor awards or Voter's Choice Awards, three for each of the following categories: Abstract, Animals, Bangsamoro, Landscape, Portraiture, Self – Portrait, Sports and Still Life. The major awards were the Sponsor's Choice, Judges' Choice and The Best Photo of the Year Award, which was conferred on Mr. Ellis Gabriel Largoza for his masterpiece “Tuyo ng Araw”.

The exhibit was a big success, generating more than Php 3,000 even with the minimal Php 1 entrance fee and another Php 1 for the voting ballot. The eight knot ropes that bound the photographs was also another innovative achievement of this year's photo exhibit.

The CC21 and CD21 Photography Classes have done quite a great job. Not only did they showcase their learned skills. They also manifested their compassion by donating all the exhibit's proceeds for the continuous rehabilitation of Typhoon Reming's victims in Albay. This grand gesture of theirs truly succeeded at conveying a picturesque idea of the 2008 Streaks of Light Photo Exhibit's Theme, namely,  "The Filipino Society Beyond Borders!"
