Awarding of the COE for Teacher Education
held at SEAMEO INNOTECH
The selection of the Second Round of Centers of Excellence and Centers of Development for Teacher Education has concluded and that the Ateneo de Naga University made it as a Center of Excellence in Teacher Education.
The awarding ceremony was held on October 9, 2008 at the SEAMEO-IINOTECH, Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City. Dr. Arnulfo Aaron R. Reganit, College Dean, and Dr. Evelyn Autor, Chair of the Education Department received a wall marker with the citation that reads:
The Teacher Education Program of the Ateneo de Naga University (Naga City)
is hereby identified and recognized as a
CENTER OF EXCELLENCE
for excellent performance in providing
quality instruction, research and extension services
in Teacher Education.
This recognition is valid for CY 2008-2011

The golden wall marker was awarded by Secretary Emmanuel Y. Angeles assisted by CHED Commissioner Nenalyn Defensor, Dr. Heracleo Lagrada, Director IV for Policies and Standards, and Dr. Merle Tan, Chair, Technical Panel for Teacher Education.
Other Centers of Excellence are: Mariano Marcos State University (Laoag City), Saint Mary's University (Nueva Viscaya), Bicol University (Legaspi City), West Visayas State University (Iloilo City), University of San Carlos (Cebu City), Leyte Normal University (Tacloban City), Silimman University (Dumaguete City), Notre Dame University of Marbel (Koronadal City), La Salle University (Manila), Philippine Normal University (Manila), Centro Escolar University (Manila), University of Santo Tomas (Manila) and Saint Louis University (Baguio City).
Centers of Development were awarded to St. Paul University (Tuguegarao City), Holy Angels University (Angeles City) Cebu Normal University (Cebu City), Xavier University (Cagayan City) and Ateneo de Davao University (Davao City).
