24 November 2009 - Students from the Ateneo and Mariners' Polytechnic College (Canaman) as well as representatives from the Sangguniang Kabataan participated in a one-day forum and workshop at the Bro. Richie Fernando, S.J. Hall titled FTV YOUTH SPEAK: Dialogue On the Youth Agenda and Consituency Building for the 2010 Elections.
With the youth and the first-time voters as its focus, the event aimed to promote a clean and honest election, citing the mentioned demographic as having a critical role in next year's Presidential Election.
The entire morning event served as a meet up and introduction among the participants, with by a situationer on local politics given by Mr. Rene Gumba, Chair of the Institute of Politics. The situationer provided the students with the latest information on the prime presidentiables as well as the data on the automated elections which had piqued the students' curiosity. The afternoon session served as a forum and workshop where the students get to formulate their agenda and commitment. Gladdie Mallari of the Center for Youth Advocacy and Networking conducted the session.
