Dean of the College of Education presents paper in Singapore
Dr. Arnulfo Aaron R. Reganit, Dean of the College of Education, is one of few presenters from the Philippines in the 2008 APERA International Conference held last November 26-28, 2008 at the National Institute of Education, Singapore.
With the theme: Educational Research for Innovation and Quality in Education: Policy and Pedagogical Engagements Across Contexts, said conference was participated in by about 2,000 delegates from all over the parts of the globe. Keynote addresses were given by distinguished educators, academicians, psychologists and policy makers such as by Julian Elliot og the Durham University, Colin Power, Deputy Director of UNESCO, Yin Cheong Cheng and Magdalena Mo-ching Mok of the Hong Kong Institute of Education, Eva L. Baker pf CRESST, Fr. Bienvenido F. Nebres of the Ateneo de Manila University, David Hogan of University of Pennsylvania, David Tzuriel of Venderbilt University and Felice J. Levine of University of Chicago.
The paper of Dr. Reganit titled Tracer Study of the Ateneo College of Education Graduates: 1999-2004 was accepted for presentation on the second day of the Conference. Specifically, his research assesses the graduates' perception of the study conditions and provisions while they were at the University; examines their own transition from teacher training to employment; identifies the present their job status and the extent to which their jobs are appropriate to their level of schooling; and determines the extent they use knowledge, skills and attitudes in their present job.
Dr. Reganit is a paper presented in international and national conferences such as in Thailand in 2004, and in Hong Kong in 2006. He is a recipient of numerous awards and citations and distinctions, the most distinguished of which are the International Diploma of Honor for Education and the GoldenAchiever in Education. In addition, he is a sought-after speaker or lecturer who can authoritatively expound on such topics as research, test construction, alternative assessment, curriculum design, teaching strategies, and teacher training and development.
His publications include learning modules, journal articles, and useful books, namely Essentials of Student Teaching, Measurement and Evaluation in Teaching and Learning, Research Made Easy: Educational Setting, and Assessment of Student Learning Outcomes.
