Ateneo High School Batch 83 sponsors scholarship to the College of Education
In gratitude to the University for the excellent Jesuit education they have enjoyed and in celebration of their Silver Jubilee year, the Ateneo High School Batch 83 granted full scholarship to Mr. Raphael “Raffy” Martin R. Magno. Raffy graduated from Ateneo High School last March 15, 2008 and received various awards in Leadership and Service. His parents are from Siruma, Camarines Sur. His father ,Donald Magno, is a member of HS Batch 81. As a scholar, Raffy, has to maintain a Quality Point Index (QPI) of not less than 3.20 every semester. The scholarship includes full tuition and other fees as well as uniform and textbook allowances.
ADNU College of Education hosts In-Service Training for Third Year High School Teachers
The ADNU College of Education graciously hosted the 2008 In-Service Training for Teachers (INSET) sponsored by the Department of Education (DepEd) through the Fund for Private Education (FAPE). This was held at the Ateneo Arrupe Convention Hall last May 19-21, 2008. Four hundred and seventy (470) participants from the one hundred and fifty (150) Educational Service Contacting and Education Voucher System schools in Bikol were in attendance. 
College of Education sponsors Regional Conference
on Licensure Examination for Teachers
The ADNU College of Education and the Philippine Association for Teacher Education (PAFTE) sponsored a one-day conference with the theme: Raising Standards—Setting Targets: Improving School's LET Performance, last April 25, 2008 at the Richie Fernando Conference Hall of Ateneo de Naga University. The conference was organized to address the problem on the performance of Region V in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). Over the years, the performance of Region V in the LET has been relatively low with a variation of passing rates among schools ranging from zero (0) to as high as eighty plus (80+) percent. 
ADNU co-sponsors medical microbiology symposium: “SKIRMISHING PATHOGENS!”
More than 200 students, teachers, and researchers from Iriga City, Legaspi City, Daet, and Naga City attended the Skirmishing Pathogens! Symposium held last April 26, 2008 at the Arrupe Convention Center of Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU). The activity was organized by the Philippine Society for Microbiology, Inc. (PSM) - Bicol Chapter, headed by its Chapter President, Dr. Michael A. Clores, and co-sponsored by the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, and the College of Nursing of Ateneo de Naga University.

A group of administrators, faculty, alumni, students and friends of the Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU) and Ateneo de Davao University(ADDU) headed by Fr. Joel E. Tabora S.J. and Dr. Rebecca C. Torres, Academic Vice President, recently completed a 10-day Cultural Exposure/Benchmarking Tour to China last April 10-19, 2008. Dr. Dominador Peralta, Director of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) – Region V accompanied the group on this memorable journey of discovery and novel experience to a country previously considered as a sleeping giant but is now rapidly awakening to become one of the world’s super economic power.
ADNU Celebrates 58th Commencement Exercises
Nine hundred and fifty-two (952) graduates proudly marched through the Four Pillars last March 29, 2008 during the 58th commencement exercises. The whole university represented by the College Deans, Administrators, Board of Trustees, faculty and staff joined the proud parents and students in celebrating the graduation day of the College and Graduate School Batch 2008. 
CCD Goes to Sta. Eulalia, Baao for Relief Operation
As a concrete response to flooding in some areas in Camarines Sur due to incessant heavy rains, the Center of Community Development (CCD) backed by the funding from the University Social Involvement Council of the Ateneo de Naga University and contributions from the Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan formed a calamity reaction plan to conduct food relief operation to the residents of Barangay Sta. Eulalia, in the muunicipality of Baao, Camarines Sur last March 10, 2008. 
National Competitive Council (NCC) partners with the College of Education
The National Competitiveness Council (NCC), under the Office of the President, Malacañang created by virtue of Executive Order 571 engaged in the implementation of the Action Agenda for Competitiveness Summit in October 2006 collaborates with the College of Education in the training of teachers in Math, Science and English.
Felix Torallo’s Teatro Berde Wins in ADMU Social Entrepreneurship Business Plan Writing Competition
Felix Neil L. Torallo , a third year AB Communications student of the Ateneo de Naga University, emerged as one of the five winners in the Ateneo de Manila Social Entrepreneurship Business Plan Writing Competition in line with 1st Future Leaders of Asia Forum. “Teatro Berde”, his winning business plan, made its way up amongst the other twenty-five participating schools in the whole Philippines and in several Asian countries like Pakistan, Japan and Malaysia.
College of Education designated
as Center of Training
Out of more than 1,500 teacher training institutions in the Philippines, the College of Education has been designated as one of the 80 Centers of Training (COT) by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
State University of Malang , Indonesia Officials Visit AdNU; Sign MoA
A delegation of four (4) officials from the State University of Malang in Indonesia , headed by its Rector, Prof. Dr. H. Suparno visited ADNU (Bagumbayan and Pacol Campus) last March 7-8, 2008. The other members of the delegation were Dr. Marthen Pali, Dr. Mukhtar and the Director of Office of International Affairs – Dr. Siusana Kweldju. Their visit was aimed at establishing international linkages with some leading universities in the Philippines in the field of teacher education.
ADNU Bags Outstanding Entrepreneurship Students Award
Seven (7) Commerce faculty members and four (4) BS Entrepreneurship students attended the Annual Conference of the Entrepreneurship Educators Association of the Philippines (ENEDA) held last February 27 – March 1, 2008 at the Queen's Resort, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan. 
ADNU Pays Tribute to National Artist F. Sionil Jose
In celebration of the annual Philippine Arts Festival, world-renowned Filipino novelist Francisco Sionil Jose was given a special tribute in a simple yet elegant program dubbed as ‘Pagpupugay kay Francisco Sionil Jose’ last Thursday, February 28, at the Arrupe Convention Hall of Ateneo de Naga University. Jose is widely known for his Rosales Saga, a series of six novels set in his hometown of Rosales, Pangasinan. In these novels, he rewrote history by giving emphasis on characters not given importance in history books.
